Haterz Alwayz Lookin'

So before I get to the big day that was Thursday let me first explain the title of this entry. When Allard and I drove to Maryvale Sunday for the Brewers/Mariners game there was this guy rolling in his 1998 Oldsmobile Bravada with the running board falling off and in giant white lettering across the back window was written "Haterz Alwayz Lookin'" Yeah he was pretty cool, just what you'd expect in Renton south.

Alright time to jump into the way back machine and re-visit the day that was Thursday. Hopefully it'll live up to the delays it's posting has gone through.

So Thursday we awoke to the rear window of Allard's van broken out. Since the size of the initial hole was that of a brick our first suspect was Jamie Moyer trying to drum up business for All-Star auto glass. Unfortunately this is the only picture available from the condo security cam.

So after breaking out the rest of the glass Allard and I headed to Maryvale. When we hit Maryvale we were at a stoplight next to a car with hydraulics (I mentioned this was Renton south right?) and a guy a little too proud to be driving his pimped out ride. Which led me to exclaim "Yeah, but we're riding around with a broken out rear window. Who's ghetto now?"

So after a busy day of work it was time for the Coyotes and Canadiens that night. It actually started as work as we had to interview Mariners first round pick and Quebec native Phillippe Aumont. First we had to pick him out of the suprisingly large French-Canadian contingent at the game, luckily there are only so many 6'7" dudes out there.

After "work" was out of the way it was time enjoy the game. Using our handy press passes we sat 5 rows up from the glass. Close enough to get this pic.

Incidentally in goal for Montreal was Carey Price. The last time I saw him live he was pulled less than a minute into a game versus the Thunderbirds after giving up 2 goals while playing for Tri-Cities.

I unfortunately didn't get to meet Shane Doan. Although our press passes allowed us locker room access, Shane spent the last minute of this 4-2 loss trying to pick a fight with anyone in a red shirt. I figured it was probably better not to bug him for the sake of this goofy little blog. But what is better than meeting Shane Doan? Being Shane Doan!

I won't lie, it felt pretty good!

Fast forward now to Sunday, and the song of the day is "Wayne Gretzky" by Goldfinger. There were 2 legends in the booth next to us Bob Uecker and Wayne Gretzky. Not quite a Shane Doan sighting but can you really complain about the "Great One"? Yes, if you're an idiot like me.

Let's end this with a fun Wong photo!

That's it for today, I've got to come up with a bunch more stories for the future.
