Some days just aren't your day, and Sunday was one of those. It was the last thing I wanted while we edited our first show. Of course the problems started Saturday night with the first (which of course implies there were multiple) dubbing of the Wonger's tape. For this reason today's song of the day is "Prophecy" by Remy Zero. Mostly for the first line which is "Consider this a sign.." Warnings be damned, we're forging on!
Sunday started with the re-dubbing of Wonger's glider footage. We hooked up a new deck and proceeded to test the set up. Threw the footage in the John Jacobson Memorial Edit Suite and picture looked great. Wong no longer looked like the Incredible Hulk. So we dubbed the whole 22 minutes and went to edit only to find we might've wanted to check audio levels before committing to a full dub. So it was back to setting the whole thing up and trying it again. Third times the charm, we finally get both video and audio right and can finish Wong's package 12 hours later.
Wong has another package ready before I get any of the first show to edit so I start to work. A minute 25 into it with at least 35 more seconds of copy for a package that was supposed to be a minute 15 (nice time management Wong!) I call it quits on the package and start watching Nascar. I pull myself away from the TV (I hope everyone was able to keep turning left) and started cutting down the package when the record deck acts up. So back to watching cars turn left waiting for Curt and Dan. Everyone is caught up to speed on the situation (mind you none of the first show due early Monday morning has even been started). So we start switching decks, for the 2nd straight spring 1st day and we are swapping decks. We're told our diagnosis is a myth that has been perpetrated over the years. But switching decks alleviates our problems. We bang out the show, although according to Curtis' calculations we have to start Tuesday's show at noon Monday to feed on time. Even good weather can't stop headaches. Alright, time to get cracking on Tuesday's show, later.
